Our Mission
Scholars and Dollars, Inc., is a nonprofit organization deeply rooted in the legacy of Spelman College and founded and now led by a dedicated Spelman alumna, is committed to empowering women, especially within the critical realms of financial literacy and financial empowerment. Our mission is to foster a nurturing environment where women can acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to achieve financial wellness and independence.

We equip young adults with the tools to navigate the complexities of personal finance, make informed decisions, and secure a prosperous future for themselves and their families. We are steadfast in our commitment to providing tailored resources and support to address these challenges head-on. At Scholars and Dollars, Inc., we envision a future where every young adult has the opportunity to thrive financially and realize their fullest potential.
Having served local Atlanta schools such as Booker T. Washington and the Spelman Bonner Program, we recognize the profound impact of our outreach efforts. Our commitment extends to piloting a financial literacy program at Spelman College, generously sponsored by the Bonner Program.
Our Programs
Manage Yo' Money
A 12-week program that aims to build the financial literacy and competency of young adults: ranging from grades 9-12 to college students. The program focuses on taking the students through a curriculum designed to create a financial roadmap that establishes life-long effective money management habits and puts them on a path to achieve long-term financial security. The program includes financial goals setting supported by mentoring and coaching from financial experts.
In Her Bag
"In Her Bag" is a comprehensive 4-week financial literacy program designed to empower college graduates and young women as they transition into the real world. This program is part of our commitment to enhancing financial wellness and equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances effectively. Through interactive sessions, practical exercises, and expert guidance, participants will gain a solid foundation in personal finance and develop strategies to achieve their financial goals.

Tailored Personal Finance Curriculum
